Why HeartStrings

Hello and thank you for your interest in HeartStrings, Inc., my name is LouAnn Moore and I founded and developed HeartStrings Inc. in 1992. Below is a brief history and as to why this company means so much to me.

I first began by raising funds for Sheriff Departments, Crime Stoppers and Domestic Abuse Shelters across the states of Kansas and Nebraska. I would list a coupon book with the in this communities with their merchants, lease space and hire help to sell the books with proceeds going to the different sponsors. I was traveling so much I never was home and one day a gentlemen called me about cookie dough and help raising funds for schools and youth groups. This brought back a real strong memory of my own.

When I was a junior in high school I started a dance team with the help of my athletic coach called the Derby Pantherettes! My mother made most of our uniforms and we excelled! In my senior year we were invited to perform at the Super Bowl in Dallas - we needed to raise $1,000.00 each. Back in the 70’s it was very hard to raise that much money, in those days there were your car washes, bake sales, baby sitting, long story short I did not have the money to go. I was devastated! I started this group, my mother made our uniforms! Since then I have never been invited back to perform at the Super Bowl or even been to a Super Bowl game. Now it was my time and mission that there should never be a financial reason why any child or adult youth would have to miss a once in a life time opportunity!

Everything we do in life is character building, we need to keep faith and dreams alive!
